GeoFrame Energy is positioned to lead a new era of domestic lithium production, using direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology and deep expertise in the Smackover Formation of East Texas.
The company controls more than 7,400 acres in East Texas, holding some of the world’s highest measured lithium concentrations in deep oil-field brines. Process design draws on assay and well data from 6,764 wells, some located directly on the lease.
Geothermal brine first generates renewable electricity through zero-emission binary-cycle generators, fully powering the DLE and lithium carbonate plant. Any excess electricity will be sold to the grid.
The Phase 1 plant will initially produce up to 3,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year. Modular expansion targets approximately 83,500 metric tons per year by early 2029.
The DLE process delivers 92–95% lithium recovery and battery-grade product exceeding 99.5% purity, in a closed-loop system with an operating footprint of less than 10 acres.
“With all the pieces falling into place — from land and lithium concentrations to advanced technology and regulatory support — GeoFrame will be the first company in the Smackover Formation to deliver lithium carbonate to the market,” said Bruce Cutright, CEO of GeoFrame Energy.
